Did the 10 minute trick and the car started right up. Went back out a few moments later to pick up my daughter and it won't even crank.

check the code .most likely ignition switch.first of all reset the light by 1switching the key on engine off till the anti theft light go off then 2switch it back to off possision for three second then on again repeat the 1 and 2 procedure 3 times then try to start.

Either you may be using a key that you had copied from the original or your chip went bad in your original key. Most of cars now a days have the key censor in the key so if it is the incorrect key it will not start your car or if it does not read that chip it will not start

On a 2003 Chevy Maibu the theft system light comes on and blinks when the system is triggered. The car will not start and the fuel pump cuts out. You must turn key to on and have all doors closed. Keep the key to on for 10 mins til theft light turns solid and then disappears. Then turn key to start and it should fire up.
