My 96 LHS has a couple things going on...first the AC only blows warm air (two mechanics say it's NOT the freon)...one says it could be the powertrain control module, another says it's a pressure sensor in the AC (and is stick on 500 lbs of pressure), 2nd thing is the air bag light is on (mech says it's the sensor in the bumper to the tune of $600) and 3rd is the cruise controlwon't work. The horn is working fine...are these things related and can I replace the airbag sensor myself?

Thanks for the quick response...I went to the site but it doesn't appear to have info on the 96 LHS...any other suggestions? It looks like they ordered T/Ducepkg - A/C Pressure and the price is only slightly higher than I can find online. But how do I relace the front impact sensors? Can't find info on that with the site you suggested...sorry!

If it is not the freon, then it could be the electronics that are supposed to electrically open the valve that lets the freon into the evaporator that gets cold. It is not a pressure sensor, but a valve.

But yes, it is easy to replace the airbag sensor in the bumper.
Here is a site with all the info, for each model, make, and year.

Sorry, but I did not realize that link was trying to get people to pay.
But unfortunately I have not done an airbag sensor on a Chrysler, so I really don't know how to help. I would assume it should not be that hard, because the only other wires to the bumper would be if there were turn signals in it. The whole bumper can't be that hard to take off. But most bumpers are also mounted on shock absorbing mounts, so they could be where the sensor is located as well.

97 Plymouth Breeze won't blow cold air due to freon leak.

Your AC system is a closed system, so the fact you have to put more Freon in, means there is definitely a leak. I would check it out with a mechanic.

Nissan sentra ac blows warm and cold air

Usually low on freon or a faulty pressure switch.
Could also be a problem with the ac clutch on the compressor.

Air conditioner stopped blowing cool air. Added freon. Worked well for a few days. Now only blows cool air on passenger side.

Chances are you have a pretty fast freon leak, and the passenger side will be blowing warm within a few days. I have the same thing happen on a couple of my GM cars, except my leak is very slow; warm driver's side, cold passenger side.

You can try and top off the freon again, but I suspect you're going to have to take it to a shop to find the leak and get it fixed. Plan on spending some big dollars for the repair.

Good Luck.
