I have a 2001 VW Passat 4-cyl (1.4L) --- three key/remotes. Two of the remote keys will unlock drivers side door and trunk, but the double push of the unlock button does not unlock the other three doors. The same two remotes will also lock all doors. The third remote does nothing. Can i reprogram to get them all working again without going to the dealer?
Thanks

The Problem is with the Microprocessor System of your Vehicle. You should Drive 3 Hrs. to the Authorized Service Station to avoid more Wreckage to other Electrical Part(s) of Car.

replace the lock actuater in the drivers door and you can try your local library for a diagram and pictures if you need them

A VW dealership can change the programming for you with a VAG-COM device.

Well, your local garage is correct. Most cars now a days have computers for everything. That is one computer that runs those things. But before you go into replacing an expensive motor, go through and get a wiring diagram from your local parts store, and then see where the wiring all have in common, this may only be the computer, but may be a fuse of some sort. hope that helps.

There is no fuse for the third brake light that I know of, it is wired into the main brake light wiring on most cars anyway. Probably the bulb is blown.
