I did not even remove the joint shaft. Take it out at the top. remove the bolts and bracket from the bottom and you can bring it out thru the top. Had to disconnect vacuum from firewall. Simpler procedure!!!

SOURCE: how to remove alternator in a mazda tribute

You didn't post your engine size so please choose the one that is applicable:

To Remove:

  1. Disconnect the battery cables.
  2. Remove the drive belt using the following procedure:
    • The serpentine accessory drive belt on this engine follows a complicated path and, if equipped with A/C could involve as many as seven pulleys. The belt must be installed properly. Some vehicles have an underhood label showing the proper belt path. It is good practice to take the time to sketch a drawing of the belt’s path BEFORE removing it. This will save much time and effort at reassembly.
    • Raise and safely support the vehicle.
    • Remove the right front wheel and tire.
    • Remove the bolts retaining the right front lower splash shield and set the shield aside.
    • Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise and remove the accessory drive belt.

SOURCE: Where is the ignition coil pack located on 2002

The ignition power pack and (aka ignition coil) is located on the 2004 Mazda MPV at the end of each spark plug wire on top of the spark plug. The front ones are easy to replace and all 3 can be done in about 30 min. The back ones are another issue. I had to take off the intake manifold on the top of the engine to get to them. This was about a 5 hour job. The installation of the new unit is pretty simple once you gain access to them. you simply disconnect a clip on wire and take out one screw and reverse the process to put in the new ones. Factory units run about $80 each. You can get them at other locations in after markets for as low as $55. Good Luck.

SOURCE: Loud whining noise on left turn (Mazda Tribute 04)

sounds like a wheel bearing maybe faulty from your text it sounds like it could be the osf you could try jacking vehicle up with engine off handbrake applied and in neutral spin the wheel and see if it makes noise or wiggle it to see if it has any play possibly take off greade cap and see if any grease in bearing /

SOURCE: how to remove radio

Hi:
You need a pair of U shaped unlocking tools. They are available at stereo installer stores, or even best buy, I fabricated a set out of a coat hanger! You pop the bezel off around the radio, and the release tools get inserted on the left and right sides of the radio deck

I have a 2001 Mazda Tribute with the 3.0 V6. The battery light will come on for a little bit then go off then flash on and off and then sometimes go for 100 miles with no light on at all. I went to a local...

14 amps under load isnt enough, plus the brushes in the alternator may be getting short, thats why the light is sometimes on. Ideally the alternator should be checked while the light is on.

Why do my daytime running lights (head lamps) pulsate when motor is running. 2002 mazda tribute

Are the pulsing during driving or just at stops and idle? The pulse 99% of the time indicates a loose generator belt or bad alternator. YOu can have the alternator checked at a local parts store such as AUtozone, Advance, Napa, or Oreilly's free of charge. Depending on the age of your belt it may be time to change it as well. P.S. you notice your headlights because thats where your eyes are focused.. but turn your instrument light control knob all the way to brightest and willing to bet they are pulsing slightly too..

Electricall problem w/2002 V6 mazda tribute

When that light comes on, it is indicating charging system problem which could mean alternator not charging for one reason or another like loose belt, faulty alternator, or yes, bad battery or connection at battery, for example. First & easiest thing to do is check all your connections to battery, which you've probably done, and make sure they're tight & clean. Make sure belt driving alternator is good & tight, and in good shape. Now boost the vehicle to get it going & test voltage at battery, after you take cables off. My guess is in your case, the voltage will begin to go down, indicating a bad alternator, that will need to be replaced.
