Inside the trunk on the left or right side ,there will be cut out flaps in the trunk liner just fold an pull on the material and open access panel, you will find three screws with nuts on them remove the nuts and then while holinding the light assembly push the screws out.
this will let the tail come out,the bulb assembly is a twist lock just turn it and the socket will come out.

Brake lights 2001 Oldsmobile aurora

Did you check STOP LP fuse 15amp. in the rear fuse block ? Do you know where this is. Fuse Block - Rear Under the rear seat, on the left side of the floor pan.
The STOP LP fuse in the fuse block - rear supplies battery positive voltage to the normally open stop lamp switch. When the driver presses the brake pedal, the switch contacts close. The battery positive voltage flows to the left stop lamp assemblies, to the right stop lamp assemblies and to the center high mounted stop lamp (CHMSL). The left stop lamp and the CHMSL have ground at G402. The right stop lamp has ground at G401.
Did you check for power at the stop lamp switch ? both in an out of the switch with brake pedal pressed ?

Town and counrty front right signal light flashing faster, rear light stop flashing

the signal indicator lights are suppose to flash in perticular time interval which is connected to a timer relay when the light flashes faster that means the other light is not working and the relay is getting double the current and moving faster so check the other light either the bulb is fuse or the current is not reaching up to the bulb

2002 Chevy Tahoe: Replacing Bulbs in Rear High Mount Stop Light?

Yes you can do this your self. When you open the back hatch their should be a way to take out the whole back light system, which then you can replace each individual light.

IF you have NO brake light in the rear and NO HIGH mount stop light. You may have a BAD Brake light switch this located at the top of the brake pedal under the dash. Replace switch and that should solve your problem. Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA
