2004 pathfinder moon roof only opens a couple of inches. The tilt motor works fine and the sun roof opens strong and fast but stops after about 3 inches

Check the path for any and all debris and obstructions. Gears might have a missing tooth - check for that also.

Sun roof on '03 Olds Alero will open completly but

Could be something sticking although it is odd that it shuts when cold but sticks when Hot. Normally when something heats up like that it shuts down not the other way around. Check for some miss placed glue or something that might loosen up when heated but get sticky when cold.

Can't open a 2002 Mercedes c230 kompressor sun roof

It's typically the motors or the special drive tubes that it uses. If you here a clicking noise then the sunroof became to tight and ruined the motor gears. You can actually switch the two motors, one is for the shades and needs less power then the other motor. They are identical, switch them. Nex make sure they are very tight to the 3 mounting bolts, there is a rubber washer bushing that wears out and alloys the motor to flex too much, causing the gear mis-alignment and gear grinding. This works great I do it all the time.

Chrysler concorde sun roof stuck open!!

Check the fuses to start with. If they are fine it could be a broken switch or a burnt electrical motor. If the closing mechanism has broken and bound up it could keep the window from closing. With the car in accessory mode or ON -whichever allows the windows to open - hit the close switch and listen closely. if a click of the motor can be heard it is a mechanical issue - if not it is electrical.
