Chugging when I accelerate

I ran out of gas a few weeks ago. Now my car is chugging and acting like it did when I ran out of gas. What could be wrong?

Possible fault could be that the empty tank had broough in dirt into the filter or fuel system. Please try to remove the line and check or replace fuel filter.Even it is possible if water is inside the system which will come out only when the tank is empty. Check this out.

Ran my 92 GMC 4-3 out of gas put gas in it it chuged for few then was fine went to station filled it up it started fine drove 1.2 miles made a fight turn on accelerator it started chugging and died

Mike fuel filter may be dirty and plugging after running tank so low or possibly fuel pump has now weakened and is failing. Have vehicle scanned o see if diagnostic codes are stored to help diagnose.

Why is my Accord chugging when I accelerate and the check engine light coming on ?

The fuel filter is probably full of metal too. (fuel starvation) replace it.

Chugging when I accelerate

When you ran out of gas, the pump probably pucked up crud from the bottom of tge tank and clogged the fuel filter - it's not uncommon. I'd change the fuel filter, and pick up a can of Seafoam (Walmart or any auto parts store). The next time you fill up, pour the Seafoam into the tank and fill up on top of it. That'll help clean the lines, tank, and injectors. Then you should be good to go.

2003 F150 engine chugging when i accelerate

Check your fuel pump or even your air intake could or might be loose or your putting cheap gas in your vehicle.
If your truck has a V8 I would suggest using 91 octane at Chevron or a Texaco.
