I think 90,000 miles recommended by Lexus is where the car operate Minisota/Houston,TX etc... If the car operate in southern CA which is almost no rain and temperature usually 50 to 75 degree. The timing belt ca last at least 150,000. You can check the water pump/alternator/air condition belts. If those belt wore out badly or it had been replaced some time ago. It time to replace timing belt.
I am not an expert on this, but this is comon sense. Timing belt is completely seal from dirt and oil so it will last for long time, beside when a manufacture recommended replacement, you can add about 30% more life out of it, Like southern CA, I think it will last for 200,000 miles easy.

Its recommended to all Toyota/Lexus V-6&V-8s Engines 99-up Engine types: 1MZ/2MZ/3MZ-FE+RZ motors (90K serv), anywhere, hot, cold, wintery, tropical....NOTE: waterpumps on these vehicles are built with plastic fins which wear faster than steel units. Wear and tear may be induced by foreign objects (oil, dust, dirt etc.), but 90% of the wear comes from rotational inertia, cam gear contacts, engine speed. Also cam and crank seals leak naturally and usually start around 100K, which is the reason toyota/Lexus recommends after the 1st 90k service it becomes 60K intervals.
