1986 Dodge pick-up. 318 engine. 2 barrel carburator. Gas not getting to the carburator. Starter turns and that's all. Quick start fluid sprayed into the carburator starts the truck. May start for a day or two and then it just cranks and won't start without start fluid spray again.
Check all of the fuel lines very carefully for breaks or cracks in the fuel lines, especially between the fuel tank and the fuel pump.
If the fuel lines are all in good condition then you can safely assume that the problem is in the fuel pump and you will need to replace it. (If the fuel pump is in really bad shape the engine oil on the end of the engine oil dip-stick will smell like fuel)
Testimonial: "Excellent advice. The neighbor John, found a crack in a line going to the carburator. He replaces 3 inches of black line and the problem was solved. Thanks so much. "
Replaced fuel pump and all lines are in good shape but my truck still won't start, only when i prim the carb but for just a minute then dies.
