I recently had the engine replaced. When I got it out of the shop the car is spewing a fluid (can't identify it), running hot, not changing gears after about 55 mph. Also, trouble codes P1400, P0760, P0750, P0755.

New? used ? dealer? You need to have the "shop" fix it, if they refuse to fix it, for free, have it fixed and sue them for the bill. Theres no excuse for letting a car like that out of the shop, engine replacements need a good 20 mile test drive and check out. If you overheat the engine, you are done, no warranty .

Acts like the transmissions slipping AFTER it gets warm, when its cool it shifts great?

Check you have enough transmission fluid, does it surge when changing up when warm? When checking fluid level run gear shift through gears 3 times to circulate fluid place in park then check level do this with engine running and parking/handbrake on. If you don't run shift through gears before checking level dipstick will give false reading.....usually saying you have enough but when fluid has to circulate there won't be and hence trouble with gear change when hot.

I have a 2005 Cadillac deville and the trans hot idle engine has been coming on. I then discovered that the high pressure hose to the transmission is leaking badly. The car will not shift past first gear....

Check transmission fluid level first. How long since it's been changed? Make sure to use owners manual to check correctly. Usually hot, idle, run through gears first. If low, could cause all those conditions.

1999xj8 problem transmision default

change trans filter and fluid before inst. new fluid warm a bottle of lucas slip stop in a bucket of hot water (helps it enter the tran and mixing with other fluid) and fill. be carful not to over fill ( check with engine running and check frequently after change while trans is hot shift manualy from first to park holding it in each gear for three seconds to get an acurate reading) it does more damage to over fill a trans and power steering than to run it a little low. best of luck

My 2005 chevy monte calro has been overheating it has hot coolant on dash but fluids are cold, goes off when applied gas hard to get fluids pumping, heater doesn't work and recently replaced radiator and...

Check the thermostat, if it isn't opening when engine warms up, the coolant in the engine will overheat and make pressure in the cooling system but the fluid in the radiator will still be cold.

White smoke from exaust

Hi,
When white smoke is spewing from your exhaust, it is usually an indication that something is burning. The typical culprit is a burning fluid from the vehicle, but other causes are possible.

Oil, transmission fluid and antifreeze are the three fluids most likely to be the cause of white smoke coming from your exhaust. Ruptured seals, leaky bolts and blown gaskets can expose oil to hot spots, making it burn. Pinholes or loose lines can cause antifreeze to spray on the engine, while transmission fluid can be sucked into the engine and burn

Here is a form of solution or prevention which can help you out;
Keep your fluids at the appropriate level and change them at the recommended intervals to reduce leaks and maintenance issues. Use the proper types of fluids as well. The wrong transmission fluid can cause your gears to stick and wear down, while the wrong oil can reduce lubrication on the engine and cause internal damage. Improper mixture or wrong type of antifreeze can cause overheating.

Good luck.

My 2000 concorde runs great when cold then tranny slips when hot. . . . . ?

Fluid level ok? Check it when hot and car running.

Have you had the tranny serviced recently?

This type of tranny uses the Dextron +4 fluid, any other fluid would mess up the transmission.

I have a 1999 Intrepid, no problem w tranny, but a month ago I put an aditive that a friend recomended. After only about 5 miles I felt the car more responsive and with more power. I also think my gas mileage improved.

I got it at AutoZone the brand is RISLONE Transmission Stop Slip with Leak Repair
it says works with all types of fluids.

I hope this will help. Good luck
