Alright, bought a 1989 Jeep Cherokee. Replaced

Alright, bought a 1989 Jeep Cherokee. Replaced battery and noticed there was only one wire from the positive terminal to the starter. Seems to me that there should be a hot wire somewhere that powers everything else. Found what I think is the starter solenoid, which according to the wiring diagrams has numerous fusable links out of it. But the connection goes straight to the negative terminal. Am looking for a visual wiring diagram to trace wires.

1989 jeep cherokee skipping problem

it may not be the problem but check the earthing strip or put a new earth wire from the engine block to the shell or negative on the battery and see if this stops it, can happen if the earth is damaged or not connecting properly, as parts not getting the correct voltage.
