My 1998 Plymouth Neon wants to stall when I'm at red lights. I had a head gasket replaced several years ago, and I think the problem was never fully resolved since I continue to have to add oil regularly. The shakey/jerky stalling has been really bad today. I just would like to buy time before i have to get a new car. It has over 100k miles on it. Thank you so much for your help...

SOURCE: oil pan gasket replacement

It shouldn't be hard on that car as the oil pan is exposed. Unplug the oil plug and drain the oil. Then unbolt the oil pan, clean off the old gasket and replace. Make sure you scrape both the pan and the block clean thoroughly and then bolt back up. Don't forgot to replug the drain plug.

INSTEAD OF REPLACING THE HEAD GASKET ON A 1998 PLYMOUTH NEON, WHICH IS VARY COSTLY WHAT IS THE BEST SEALER TO BUY?

a sealer is a stop gap measure used to sell the vehicle
stop gap measures work out to more expensive than a gasket job if you have to keep the car as to the best one to use , if you read forums on sealers you will see that it all comes down to price and preference

Water leaking into the back passenger floorboard of Plymouth 1998 Neon

I had the exact same problem with my 1995 neon. It was leaking around the tail light. I pulled the tail lights off and put a heavy coat of RTV silicone on the gasket, and 2 years later never happened again

1998 neon keeps overheating mostly when idleing...the theromostat has been replaced twice and radiator replaced about 1 year ago

is the cooling fan working when it should be.if so then you could have a water pump problem or a head gasket problem.

I have a 2000 Plymouth Neon. I have oil in the

sounds like blown head gasket or possible cracked head. Only way to know for sure is either you pull the head, take to a machine shop have it serviced, they will replace any bad valves, resurface and pressure check it. If its cracked they will tell ya. The alternative is to pull the head, clean up really good and put a new gasket and reinstall the head. If it doesn't fix its cracked.

I recently just had new front and back brakes put on my 1998 plymouth van and the brake light is stll on and my brakes are going all the way to the floor when I'm coming to a stop. I have to put brake...

First - it's old, things break.
Your brake line somewhere is leaking. I good repair place would / should have seen this.
The brake light is because the car thinks the PARKING brake is on, not because the brakes need to be replaced.
Chrysler products that I have owned from 1990 to 1998 have had a problem with blown head gaskets. A 1998 Plymouth Breeze being the last one that I had to replace the head gasket in. The exhaust leaks into the coolant and forces it out, and the car runs hot.
Junk it and get another van!
