Where is the fuel pump relay on an F350 Ford Diesel 7.3L Engine. One posted said it was behind the radio and the radio has a special tool required to take it out. The truck died over a week ago. We thought it was the computer module which we just replaced. No wait to start light. Think it may be this relay.

According to Haynes Diesel Repair Manual the fuel pump relay is mounted on the inner fender (doesn't say which side). The fuel pump inertia switch should be found under the dash to the right of the transmission hump and near the heater case. Depress the button on top of it to reset it. Hope this will help.

Location of fuel pump on 1988 Ford F350 460 engine

there could be 2. one is in the tank, this one is there for sure. the other is in the frame rail ahead of the switching valve,if you have 2 tanks.Otherwise look for a cylinder with fuel lines and 2 wires.the fittings on inline fuel pump might take a special tool, they will look like a bell.that tool can be bought at parts store, should be under $15.

I have a 1999 f350 that will turn over, but wont start. i cannot smell any diesel. think it is a problem concerning fuel pump. checked power distribution box fuse. Is ok. is there an actual fuse...

The fuel injection in this engine is digital electronically controlled, to start the diagnosis you must have the Powertrain electronic control module (PCM for short) scanned to see if any fault info exist in its memory. The system is just way to complicated to diagnose at home, you need any special tools.

On 2003 Ford F350 6.0 diesel where is the fuel pump relay?

Hello freefallcrus
The fuel pump relay for the 2003 f350, is an integral part of the central junction block(fuse box) located under the left side of the dash. So in order to replace the relay, you would have to replace the junction block. Hope this is helpful.

Instructions for ford f350 7.3 diesel injector replacement...........

The best thing to do is pick up a copy of Haynes Diesel Engine Repair Manual, part # 10330. It has detailed instructions on this procedure as well as a lot of other common service procedures.
There are 2 different procedures which depend on whether you have Direct Injection Turbo or not. DIT requires special tools and my book suggests that's what you probably have. It also lists a couple of warnings for DIT so maybe the manual would be your best bet to get it right and not take a chance on ruining your engine. Hope this helps.

glow plug relay should be on the front are rear of intake.you have a mechanical low pressure pump on the passenger side low near the front. or a electric low pressure pump on the starter side. your truck should have the low pressure electric pump. to check fuel pressure you disconnect the out let line to do a out put test.on the electric low pressure pump.put out let line in a container.crank engine for 20 to 30 sec.you should have a good flow of fuel no dribbles.if dribble replace low pressure electric pump.the mechanical low pressure pump out put test you disconnect fuel line from the fuel filter inlet line.disconnect wire at fuel injection pump electric shut off solenoid .place the fuel line in a container. crank engine for 20 sec. fuel flow looks good.pump is good .if dribbles.replace mechanical low pressure pump.to check glow plug relay you need a .diesel repair ford manual to show you where to put a test light to check the relay.WEAR SAFETY GLASSES WHEN WORKING ON DIESEL ENGINES.DONT DISCONNECT THE INJECTION PUMP LINES WHILE ENGINES IS RUNNING.THE FUEL PRESSURE IS SO HIGH SPRAY IN YOUR EYE CAN CAUSE BLINDNESS.GET IN SKIN OR SORE CAUSE BLOOD POISON. Need to replace the original fuel pump in a ford f350

Not too much of a problem really.....you want to have a pretty empty tank. Your pump is in the gas tank. Best way to do it is have a digital camera in hand and take plenty of photos . Easy part is dropping the tank, unstrapping it, undo the wires and hose/tubing....remember to replace the gasket.

It's easy, take your time and you can do it. No special tools required.

Many possibilities:
Is it a Diesel?
Camshaft position sensor recall may cover it.
Gas or Diesel:
Fuel Pump and/or relay.
Fuel Filter.

Engine codes could help if Check Engine Light is on.
