2005 chrysler 300 heater fan is making noise

I have 2005 chrysler 300 and the heater fan is making a wierd noise. it almost sounds like a piece of insulation has come loose and is in the fan. is it possible for a home mechanic, with 3 years of high school auto mech. to handle it??

Thanks for the quick response. I hope that it turns out as easy as you have suggested. Any tips on where to start. Is it on the firewall under the hood or would it be under the dash?

Yes it is. most heater fans on chrysler products are real easy.you might find a dead mouse or mouse nest in there throwing fan off balance

the last year i worked for chrysler was 2004 but i dont think much has changed so it would be inside the car under the dash on passenger side you will have to pull off the cover that is below glove box to get at the fan. there are 3 sometimes 4 screws that hold it in and some weaseling involved getting at one of them. pull carpet down if motor wont pull out once loose that will give you enough room to get it out

When turning on car pushing on gas pedal around 300 rpm inside of car sounds on the passenger side of car a grinding or rubbing noise car

That can be a number of things. I just had a car with that noise and it was a broken motor mount. This caused the engine to move when you push the gas pedal, the fan hit the radiator shoud and that was the noise. I can't really diagnose the problem, unless I am there to witness the noise.

How to stop the whining noise in Chrysler 300 2004 engine while on

Sounds like you have a transmission pump issue, you will need to take it to a tranny shop to diagnose if that is the problem if in drive it does not whine.

When I turn heater on it makes loud noise & wont heat up

Paula, it sounds like your heater fan motor has died and gone to heaven. You did not describe the noise but if it's kind of a squealing noise you need a new motor installed. Should be under $300.

Heater blower doesnt work on 2005 chrysler 300

Locate the fuse pannel and check for blown fuse...If fuse not blown - check fan control relay for proper operation - If thats not the problem check for voltage at the switch.
