I have 2005 chrysler 300 and the heater fan is making a wierd noise. it almost sounds like a piece of insulation has come loose and is in the fan. is it possible for a home mechanic, with 3 years of high school auto mech. to handle it??
Yes it is. most heater fans on chrysler products are real easy.you might find a dead mouse or mouse nest in there throwing fan off balance

the last year i worked for chrysler was 2004 but i dont think much has changed so it would be inside the car under the dash on passenger side you will have to pull off the cover that is below glove box to get at the fan. there are 3 sometimes 4 screws that hold it in and some weaseling involved getting at one of them. pull carpet down if motor wont pull out once loose that will give you enough room to get it out

Thanks for the quick response. I hope that it turns out as easy as you have suggested. Any tips on where to start. Is it on the firewall under the hood or would it be under the dash?
