When ignition switch is placed on "on", are several lights not lit on the instrument panel. Such as check engine, abs, battery, oil..etc!! All warning lights are to be lit momentarily when the ignition is placed in "on" position. This vehicle may be part of a recall in 2002, which replaces faulty ignition switches. Poor design of internal contacts and excessive power consumption leads to power failure to vital engine components. Typical symtoms include: intermitted stalling, no spark, hard starts. Inspect the ignition switch for dark residue, and replace if necessary!!

Sounds like you may have a defective Crankshaft position sensor. You might try checking the connector that goes to that sensor and make sure it is plugged in properly. Always disconnect the battery before doing so.. Good luck

2000 Honda CRV won't start, turns over, no spark

Do you have a spark at the coil? Try pulling off the cable, and with somebody inside to crank the engine, check to see if there is a spark jumping from the center high-voltage terminal. If you have no spark, you may have a bad coil or bad electronic ignition module.

My Honda CRV 2000 starts ok in the morning, but after turnng the eng. off and on ( going places in the city ) after the 4th time, it will not start ???

Your Ignition Coil could be the problem. It is starting to fail. It's losing contact and won't ignite your spark plugs when the engine is hot.

My Honda CRV (1998) is making a high pitched whine sometimes when I'm driving. It seems to happen when the rpms are high before shifting (I own a standard transmittion CRV). It whines between 2.5 and 3...

Check your power steering fluid level. If too low the pump will whine like that. Put some in it if low. Don't buy power steering fluid, automatic transmission fluid is the same thing and is much cheaper.

Does the high-pitch whine exist when the engine is just running? Not moving (transmission is not in gear)? Running but with transmission in neutral (coasting down hill)?

Honda 2000 CRV Car just died no spark even after replacing the coil, cap, and rotor.

Other two options are a crank sensor and ignition module. If you have a way to check RPM you should have about 200 cranking. If no rpm then crank sensor is bad and this could be tested if you know how with a digital meter. If you do have rpm most likely the ignition module or worse case scenero computer failed. If your extremly lucky you just popped a PCM or IGN fuse

2000 honda crv willnot start-no spark

remove the ignition coil pack and have it tested at a local auto parts store. If its still good, try replacing the crank or cam position sensor. If you still get no spark, then you will need to follow up with the tech manuals for thorough trouble shooting instructions.
