No fuel pressure , test the fuel system with a fuel pressure gauge . Hook up a scanner an check engine sensor data parameters to the PCM . 048 Engine Hard to Start or No Start Scan Data for Starting Problems If you don't know this you mite want to take it to a qualified repair shop.
Fuel pump going out. Once it gets warm after 15 mins the o rings loosen up and cause it to loose prime and shut off. After cooling for 15 mins they have shrunk enough to build pressure again.
The power stroke engine has several things that will cause this problem #1 crank shaft sensor AKA cam shaft sensor on crank shaft located on passenger side of engine near crank shaft pulley # 2 IPC sensor Injection pressure control if has oil in sensor replace it & wiring pigtail .#3 high pressure oil pump not up to par. #4 injection pressure regulator solenoid they get sticky. with a good scanner that has FORD enhanced software you can check all of these without leaving the drivers seat and perform running tests on injectors and test the ficm module interface with the pcm. Fuel Injection Control Module & Power Control Module.
have you actually measured the fuel pressure with a gauge ? you may have fuel pressure to the eye but not enough to run. also is your fuel filter been replaced ? Your car could possibly be in theft mode also, which you would have to leave key on for 30 min. i believe, someone will have to clarify this for me. then shut off and cycle it again but not to start position. I will read up and get back to you
there is still more to check. like the mass air flow sensor, the whole fuel line cleanout, and if its an auto it does have a camshaft sensor. its located into the transmission.
Check the wiring at the fuel pump assembly for corrosion, if the wires look ok, i would then move to the Crank and cam shaft sensors. if these sensors are not in good condition , it will cuase these actions.
if everythign checks out ok with the sensors, this will confirm a serious PCM issue.
If you have a GTP these engines use a hi output fuel pump. they use a fuel pump resistor located under the battery tray (look up from under the car) This resistor lowers the voltage to the fuel fump when not in boost mode. because of its locatoin it is prone to corrosion. if you bypass the wires and the engine starts and stays running replace the resistor
