Trouble code P1715

Ford: SSB Inductive Signature Malfunction Transmission Fluid Pressure Solenoid Faulty or bad readings.

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P1715 will set when a mechanical failure of the SSB shift solenoid is detected. When the SSB solenoid is stuck off, the symptoms will be incorrect 3rd gear ratio or no 3rd gear. When the SSB solenoid is stuck on, the symptoms will be 1st gear ratio incorrect or no 1st gear. The diagnosis procedure directs to check for other DTCs; if there are no additional DTCs for the transmission fluid temperature (TFT) or other shift solenoids, then to replace with a new solenoid and/or valve body. This is a trouble code for the "Input Speed Sensor" on the transmission. Fixing it will depend on where it is mounted on the transmission housing and if there were any other trouble codes listed at the same time. Some sensors are mounted on top of the transmission housing making it Very difficult to get to.

P1715 is the primary speed sensor input signal. Have you changed the speed sensor?

CAN bus circuit from the TCM to PCM is open or shorted Input speed (primary) sensor circuit is open or damaged TCM has failed
