The Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) on the 4.0L 6cylinder engine is bolted to the top of the oil pump drive shaft assembly. The sensor and drive shaft assembly is located on the right side of the engine near the oil filter.

2004 F150 5.4L died in stop and go traffic, P0345 code. Towed home, checked cam sensors, ohms good. Code gone with battery discharge, recharged, now won't fire at all. Turns over on starter, verified fuel,...

Based on the information provided, it is possible that the issue is related to the camshaft position sensor or the wiring/connectors related to it. The P0345 code indicates a problem with the camshaft position sensor "A" circuit, which could result in a no-start condition.
Here are some additional steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the wiring and connectors related to the camshaft position sensor. Make sure they are not damaged or corroded and are making good contact.
  2. Check the power and ground circuits to the camshaft position sensor using a multimeter. You should see battery voltage on the power side and a good ground on the other side.
  3. Test the camshaft position sensor with an oscilloscope or scan tool. This will allow you to see the signal from the sensor and determine if it is working correctly.
  4. Check the timing chain and related components. If the timing is off, it could cause a no-start condition.
If all of these checks appear to be okay, it may be necessary to perform additional diagnostic tests or replace the camshaft position sensor. It is recommended to consult a qualified mechanic for further assistance with the diagnosis and repair of the issue.

I replaced camshaft position sensor bank 2 on my 05 maxima its still showing code p0345 and my transmission won't shift automatically only if I shift it manually

That is a separate fault. P0345 is definitely the Camshaft Position Sensor and should not be related to the transmission. Did you clear the code with a Code Scan Tool?

My 2004 mazda 6 (wagon) is shakingand lunging forward. it was lunging while in drive and shakes like it will cut off, previous codes before this: P0022/P0345/P0431

P0022 A Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Retarded (Bank 2)
P0345 Camshaft Position Sensor circuit malfunction
P0431 Warm-up Catalyst system below efficiency

A bad camshaft sensor or wiring to the the sensor would cause the other two codes. Since P0345 refers to a circuit issue, get the wiring diagram and check the circuit before assuming you have a bad sensor. If the circuit checks out, then consider replacing the sensor. After that, clear the codes and drive to see if they come back.

I am not sure what "slip n tcs" means but on the 2005 nissan maxima the code P0340 is for the camshaft position sensor circit on bank 1, which is in the rear of the engine compartment. Code P0345 is for camshaft position on bank 2, which is in the front of the engine compartment. The images show the Cyl banks and a cam sensor.6_29_2012_3_38_07_am.gif6_29_2012_3_40_48_am.gif

My 2005 f150 has a p0345 code and I don't know what that means

P0345 Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2) A code P0345 could mean one or more of the following has happened:
  • a wire or connector in the circuit could be grounded/shorted/broken
  • the camshaft position sensor may have failed
  • the PCM may have failed
  • there exists an open circuit
  • the crankshaft position sensor may have failed
    • Visually inspect all the wiring and connectors in the circuit
    • Check for continuity in the circuit wiring
    • Check the operation (voltage) of the camshaft position sensor
    • Replace the camshaft position sensor as required
    • Check the crankshaft position circuit as well
    • Replace circuit wiring and/or connectors as required
    • Diagnose/replace the PCM as required

My ODB-ll code reader displays P0345 and P0349 what is the difference between each one .i replaced both camshaft position sensors

The difference between the two is,
P0345--- there's a problem in the camshaft position sensor "A" circuit on bank 2,
P0349--- it's an intermitten problem in the camshaft position sensor "A" circuit on bank 2, which means the problem comes and goes.
