Assuming that the part (and not the wiring ) was actually faulty, sometimes you need to clear the code from the computer using a scan tool. The light may go out by itself though after several duty cycles.

The fault needs to be cleared and a short drive to adapt the throttle but if your engine management light was on i used to work for volvo as a technician(master) this is usually caused by the throttle which would honestly need to be done by someone at a dealer or with the equipment to download software to the throttle the throttle needs cleaned and there is a software update from volvo the crankcase vent willneed cleaned allthe way fron the vent box to the intake then you should have an engine flush and use syntheti oil this prevents the same issue with the throttle returning

Hi can you please tell me what the two scensors are for before the catylitic converter on a volvo v70 2.5 10 valve 1998, and are both needed as i have a problem getting a front pipe/cat with two holes for...

Lambda sensors, they measure your fuel air ratio being burnt by the engine and addapt the management system accordingly. You will have to put them both back or the check engine light will stay on.

I have a volvo v70 d5, an my intercooler has a slight leak. could this affect my performance, as i accelerate hard, engine service urgent light comes up on dash. i have changed my air mass sensor, it made...

Yes, your intercooler is a problem cos it cools down the turbo charger. The turbo is what gives you your extra power, and when it overheats, it loses pressure and thatcauses loss of power.

Hi, Since you have both codes Fuel system lean and MAF low I would bet money on that you have an intake air leak after the throttle. Check all hoses connected to the intake manifold, gaskets, injectors are put in place etc.

2001 XC70 Shutsdown after startup. When driving the car shutdown, was restarted a few times to get to a parking lot. After parking, car will start for 2-3 seconds and shutoff.

Try to unplug the mass air flow meter. The mass air flow meter is atached to the air filter housing on the left of the engine bay at the front edge (left side when sitting in the drivers seat). It will be a somewhat flat 5 or 6 pin connector that mounts to the air box on one side and goes to the black air intake tube that goes down to the back of the engine.

Do it with the key off of course. With the mass air flow meter unplugged start the car and see if it will idle. if it does the mass air flow meter is bad. If the car will still not run then there is a good chance the Eletronic Throttle Module (ETM) is failing. The ETM is under an extended waranty from Volvo for 10 years or 200,000 miles.

I would suggest taking it to a garage or directly to the dealer.

Of course there are numerous other things it could be, but the Mass Air Flow Meter and the ETM are the most likely.

hope this helps.
