Car shut down wow driving

Plz check fuel pump fuse, fuel pump relay. If known to be good, then spray starting fluid into air cleaner duct. If engine starts then probable cause is a faulty fuel pump

92 vw passat 2.0 16v wont start.

I bet it's the gas. After some time the gas will no longer be volatile enough to start the car. Try draining all the fuel and putting in some fresh gas. Remember, when you try to start it again you'll need to get the new gas through the pump and lines before it will start. Also, check the condition of the injectors. Old gas can start to break down and build up a film that could be on your injectors (or clog your fuel filter- better check that too). Hope this helps.

Car starts then fuel pump shuts off and car uses pressure in fuel system then dies

Yes the fuel could be the problem - you could try spraying carb cleaner into the throttle body to boost it.
That would tell you if it is a fuel problem or not.

Did you reset the inertia switch that shuts pump down in case of collision?

I ran my car out of gas and put gas in it now it wont start

How much gas did you put in it? It is very possible that when you ran it out, that your fuel filter became clogged with the sediment from the bottom of the tank. Make sure there is atleast 5gal. of fuel in the tank. Turn the the ignition all the way forward and wait 3 seconds, but dont turn the engine over. Do this 5 or 6 times to get the fuel pump priming. Then try starting the car without pumping the gas pedal. If the car still wont start, check that the fuel system has pressure. Maybe something failed in the fuel pump when it went dry. You can have someone listen near or at the fuel tank to see if they can hear the fuel pump kicking on and off while someone turns the key on and off. Hope this helps.

Car shuts off as if starved of fuel remove fuel line and prime car starts

There's a fuel pump relay that turns on the fuel pump, as you turn on the ignition before the engine starts, to prime and pressurize the injectors. I'd check the relay it may not be operating.

I have a 1992 Lincoln Mark vii lsc. Fuel pump problem!

This sounds like the PCM has taken a turn for the worst. The pcm relay sends power to the fuel relay for 2 seconds to prime the fuel system just before start up.
Then the pcm ungrouds the signal for a prove out.

2004 mazda wont start, blew a front tire and had to be put on rollback. Sat all nite, and now wont start. will crank and can smell fuel.

flooded engine common problem remove all plugs and fuel pump fuse. get fuel out of engine do not istall fuel pump fuse re install all plugs I suggest a good charger be used as system can kill batt very quick run to wires from fuel pump fuse into seating area start cranking the engine over wires not touching once compression sounds alright touch wires to geather (may have to repeat these deflooding wire touching procedure many times) once started do not turn off car till normal operating temp . Once hot turn car off remove wires and re install fuel pump fuse .With RX-8 u cannot just start and stop car right away as in washing car as it can produce this same condition ALWAYS let car warm up before turning off.
