I have a 95 cadillac deville concours northstar v-8 i need a trasmission for it. i have one out of a1997 northstar same set up will it work. i need help

AS LONG AS MOTOR MOUNTS ARE IN SAME PLACE AND THE TRANSMISSION BOLTS ON THE TRANNY HOUSING ARE SAME SPOTS SAME GOES WITH FLY WHEEL BOLT TO TORQUE CONVERTER MAKE SURE THOSE THINGS ARE EXACTLY SAME LINING UP U SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM

Has the fuel pressure been checked, should be 42-46 PSI under a load.

Hello: The Concours has the Northstar engine and the starter is UNDER the plastic intake manifold. Remove intake to replace starter.

There isn't any set timing procedure on the northstar engine, the engine control module uses information from various sensors and adjusts the timing for the present conditions. There are 3 spark curves in the module to adjust timing for the grade of fuel being used.

if this is a 4.6 northstar there are two on the passenger side on bottom of engine and of course the transmission mounts the mount on the front passenger side is a high failure item to check raise hood start engine press hard on brake pedal put car in drive accelerate engine (about 1/4 throttle from in the car watch front 0f engine on pass side keeping foot on brake pedal see if engine jumps up when you jab the accelerator if so the mount is broken

There is no way to adjust the timing on your car....if you suspect or have verified that the timing is off, then either something is wrong with the computer, or something has gone wrong mechanically. Fixing a timing issue is not a job advise of the at home mechanic as the Northstar engine is very complex and requires many specialized tools for its repairs.

replace fuel filter first. cheapest and easiest.

call cadillac ask them if it is a non-interference motor. if it is you answer is no on the other hand a interference, motor can sustain valve damage. good question maybe compression check
