If the battery is in a good state of charge, this usually indicates a bad starter solenoid, which is integral to the starter. if you have a test lamp, attach the aligator clip to the negative terminal of the battery. the starter motor is under the van, at the very front of the engine (you will see some electrical connections, usually with a red plastic cover over the large battery connector. there is another smaller terminal, called the "S" terminal. put the probe of your test light here. have someone try to start the van. if the light lights up, and the starter does not operate, the starter is defective. if the light does not light up, the problem is somewhere is the control circuit. also, try tapping lightly on the starter with a hammer and see if it will start. if it does, the starter is bad. good luck!
You will need a new cylinoid when it goes out all you get is a click.. if the starter is good and battery is good thats all thats left to fix..
