I might not have enough information but the squeal is most likely a worn bearing. Try to isolate it with a "mechanic's stethescope" to locate the source. A pin point shot of WD-40 at the whining bearing (NO NOT put it on good bearings should TEMPORARILY quiet it IF it is a bearing. DO NOT overspray, just at the center of the pulleys...the lubricant should get pulled into bearing to confirm that the pump (power steering would be my guess) needs replacing.

Try removing the belt and turning each pulley by hand. If everything is smooth and free, with the belt still off, drive down the block once and see if the noise is there (this will eliminate all rotating accessories on the front). If you hear the noise, then there is a problem deeper inside. Oil pressure is good? Dont' forget when doing this, you will have no power steering, so be careful.

right size belt ? cheap belt ? have battery tested
SOURCE: Chirping, squealing noise from pulleys
check your pulleys. but if you have a Dayco belt on your truck, sometimes they're noisy. Its just the design. But they're good belts. But I would check the pulley on your water pump first, just in case of bearing wear. That's the best way to start.

Yes you might be right about the belt. The squeal stays constant at idle, then gets faster when you start going.Could it be something as simple as replacing the belt?My a/c compressor doesn't work, so this belt bypassed that component. It seems that it wore out fairly quickly, if that's the problem? Thanks again
Yes, I believe you're right about the belt, because it gets louder and faster with increasing the speed but stays steady at idle. The a/c compressor went out some time ago and I bought a different size belt from Autozone to bypass that component. Could the belt already have gone bad? Thanks for your help
Are you sure it isn't the belt squealing from not being tight enough or is it a different type of squeal? Does the squeal come and go? Does the squeal only happen during certain times? Does it get louder with the faster you go?
