There is a 10mm bolt on the top of the terminal. or its on the side of the terminal. unscrew it and you should be able to pull the terminal off the battery post.

Mar 26, 2013 - Question about Hyundai Motor 2003 Elantra. Open Question.Replace 2003 hyundai elantra front passenger outside door handle. Need to replacebroken exterior door handle on front passenger .... replace left front fender.
remove the interior door trim and you will see small nuts holding the handle onto the outer door skin. Remove any rods /clips and undo the nuts and the handle will come out.
sound like the alter belt or the alternotor itself needs to be replace to go the cheap way first i would have my battery tested and to check the alter yourself do this easy test start the car with the car running remove the postive battery cable off the battery if the car stay running then the altern is good if it shut down you need a new alter good luck
REMOVAL
1.Remove the rear seat cushion.2.To
reduce the internal pressure of the fuel lines and hoses, first start
the engine and then disconnect the electrical fuel pump connector.Be sure to reduce the fuel pressure before disconnecting the fuel main pipe and hose otherwise fuel will spill out.
3.Disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal of the battery.4.Remove the high pressure hose and fuel return hose.5.Remove the fuel pump assembly
if your battery died or you replaced battery, disconnect the postive terminal from battery. insert key into igniation to on position (not start) then reconnect the battery postive terminal.
Normally the Audio (Radio CODE) is noted in the owner's manual. If you don't have it, you must contact Hyundai Motor America and give them the Vehicle VIN number... they may then (possibly) be able to give you the CODE.
1.Disconnect the negative (-) battery
terminal.2.Remove the nuts holding the rear combination
lamp.3.Disconnect the connector and remove the lamp
assembly.
It is located in the trunk, behind the furthest rearward panel. (right inboard of the light housing).
