Did you disconnect/remove any other wiring/sensor when changing the pressure switch? Try disconnecting the plug from the switch and retry starting. The oil pressure switch on some GM products worked as a backup for power supply to the fuel pump in case of relay failure but I don't think this model uses that system. It could just be coiencindental that this happened. You need to determine if there is no fuel supply or spark causing the no start. Remove a spark plug wire and hold it over a ground and crank the engine. If spark is there it is a fuel problem most likely. Remove cap on schrader valve on fuel rail and press valve to determine fuel pressure/supply. If one aspect is not there, you will have to diagnose further
Check for a good spark at the plugs ,if ok check fuel pressure and fuel flow. fuel pressure should be around 300 kpa, Flow around 500 ml, in 30 seconds.
No this does not affect the fuel pump. It will affect the spark though. Hit the gas tank in the center a few times. If it starts then replace the fuel pump. Unfortunetly pumps with a few yaers on them will die when ran out of gas. If it doesn't start pull one of the spark plug wires, insert a screwdriver and put it close to the engine. crank the engine and watch for a spark. if there is no spark then replace the crank shaft sensor. before you replace the fuel pump.
THE FUEL PUMP GOT TO RUN FOR 3 SECONDS WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY ON , MAKE SURE IT RUNS LISTEN IN THE TANK. IF IT DON'T YOU NEED A COMPUTER......DID YOU CHANGE THE FUEL FILTER ??CHECK IT....
There is a sensor under the left hand side of the dash that would not allow it to start, provided that you have replaced the electronic spark module inside the distributor first, which is what it sounds like it would be, When you say you replaced the distributor I assume you replaced it complete!
If the motor is turning over, then the battery is good. You are either not getting spark or fuel. If not spark, the crankshaft position sensor is usually faulty. If no fuel, either fuel pump or fuel pump relay is bad, or clogged fuel filter, or fuel pressure regulator is faulty. You have a fuel rail that has your injectors attached to it. It should have a test port on it that looks like a tire valve. You can put a rag on top of it,, press it in and there should be lots of fuel pressure, If not, either filter is clogged or pump is not running either due to bad fuse or relay or pump is bad. For spark, there is a crankshaft position sensor that screws in engine block next to the crank. Then from here the wires go to ignition module and coil packs, then to plugs and wires. You can test any relay or sensor with an ohmmeter in the ohm position. You can test any power in an electrical unit with a voltmeter
The cam sensor is most likely the cause.
The sensor is getting hot and shorting out intermitantly. I would have the vehicle check by your local mechanic.
