The rheostat is the little dial on the dashboard that alters the brightness of the dash lights. It isn't under the hood. If your turn it all the way down until it clicks, it will turn off the lights. It will be in your manual.

the bulb is ok? visual check? switch the left and right side bulbs if they're easy to get to
hazard light swich on should flash both sides as well... is it doing that?
grounding issue on the left. gotta trace the ground wires of the left side and make sure the grounds are not corroded when bolted to the body of the vehicle
Check the indicator switch, that seems to be all that is left in the system, except the flasher relay, depending on whether the vehicle uses the same one for the hazards or not.
mine is doing the same thing! happened this morning at 3 AM and had to unhook battery to make it stop...it only happens when it is very cold outside! someone please advise on a remedy!
Hi, this is a common problem and can be very annoying the only thing you need to do to solve this problem is to replace the arm you press when you want to make a turn left or right, what happens is that the switch inside wares then it sticks in the one possition you can sometimes get it off by pushing it in slightly as you try turning it to off position but failing that the only option you have is to get the whole indicator arm replaced. Their is no way of repairing these as they are a sealed unit, if you have any breakers yards near to you then you should be able to get one from their for next to nothing other than that you need to ring your local car spares shops and see what best price you can get
It is more than likely that the blowermotor is going bad.. Next time it stops tap on it with something see if it starts. Does it stop working more when it is raining?
