4wd light doesnt go off for Toyota Noah and the green light doesnt come on when you press it, what is the problem?

Is it cold where you are ? If so below zero Celsius your actuator is froze up. This is happening on new Toyota trucks just leave it and go for a ride to warm things up. Then it will come out and work properly.

How does the 4wd lock work on awd 2013 kia sportage

Its automatic. AWD is different than 4WD. AWD keeps all the wheels working independently. Where 4WD keeps all wheels working no matter what. No need to worry about anything on an AWD set up. Speed doesnt matter, however in my opinion stopping and letting it kick in or out is best. Just in case a part acts up it wont do anything odd at high speeds.

2001 toyota sequoia stuck on 4wd

Try unplugging the 4wheel drive actuator and see if it will disingage; if that doesnt work then its probably in the transfer case itself.

My 4wd doesnt lock the front drive axle. What can I do to get it to lock into 4wd? When I put the gear into 4x4 the light comes on but it still doesnt work. Please help

Hi Kamakaroots,

Being an older 4x4 you will need to manually engage the hubs aswell as move the shifter into 4x4.
To engage the hubs you will need to turn the switches on the hub/rim's themselves.

4WD UNIT JUMPS OUT OF HIGH?

EASY FIX!

Your Schro's are going bad in the 4WD HIGH Trans Case. This sucks i know. But i had the same problem berfore.

Unit will continue to work good in low range since the stress is less then on the HIGH range. I would never use the 4WD HIGH anyway...doesnt do much on the street...just tears up the gearing and schros.

Hope this helps,

THanks,

Mark

1991 ford explorer 4wd wont work

No, mostlikely its the "transfer case actuator motor" failing to engage the 4WD mode. its located on the outside of the transfer case @ the back of the unit and mount by 2 or 3 screws usually. You may need to replace it, but if you up to it, call a few trans. shops to see if they can test it if you were to remove it and bring the motor to them for testing. Its an electric motor that in most cases auto parts stores WONT take back for return if that doesnt solve the problem, thats why i recommend talking to a trans shop about having yours tested 1st.

4 wheel will not engage on 2002 DODGE DURANGO

you will need to let the durango sit in the nuetral position without moving, then turn the knob from 2WD to 4WD. if that doesnt work, try putting the durango in reverse and then back to drive a couple times. you may have some mud/dirt/oil caked up under there interfering with the 4WD moving parts.
