Did you replace the knock sensor from the old one to the replacement one. ? double check the sensors are the correct ones fitted to your original engine are on the new replacement, also check the connection plugs, sometimes these cannot connect fully if have become weak.

SOURCE: i got 1995 nissan maxima

The knock sensor error could be the sensor, sensor circuit, or some misfire caused by a dirty/bad injector or some ignition problem.

One issue that might tie it all together is coolant leak causing the misfire/knock like a head gasket, but I think you would be throwing more codes or you would see more problems than what you have.

most cars have a mass airflow sensor.try reploacing that,That is the only other thing i can think of besides what was already replaced. if this does not work get a compression test done on the car.

What are the correct items for a full tune-up for my 1997 nissan maxima gxe?

This model uses direct ignition, which means each cylinder has a coil sitting on top of the spark plug, no distributor.
So - - air filter - fuel filter - spark plugs.
There are things that need to be done at a certain mileage which would be in your owners manual. Such as the serpentine belt, trans fluid change, coolant fluid change, etc.

try checking your Distributor cap maybe even the timing belt. If there is no spark has to be either or one of those

CHANGED SPARK PLUGS NOW HESITATING & RUNS

chances are an ignition wire was damaged when you tugged on it to remove it from the old plug .. the ignition cables have a high resistance wire inside (not a solid wire) this is not hard to damage .. check to make sure each wire is properly seated on the plug .. its easy to not get it on all the way since you cant see it ..

Every 30,000 miles you need an air filter, every 60,000 a fuel filter, every 100,000 spark plugs. That's it.
