Hi:
The most likely cause of the ABS light coming on is a faulty wheel speed sensor. Your vehicle will still drive normally, but your ABS light means you don't have Anti Lock Brakes functioning. An easy way to figure out what is going on is to have an auto parts store download the codes on your vehicle, and they can tell you what tripped the ABS light, and you can go from there.

I had the same problem with my 2001 disco, but I had abs, traction cont, manual height all one for no reason all I did was put the key in turned on the Ignition. I think the elect system has a logic all of its own and if for some reason it gets a spurious signal or if one of the sensors is slow then the warning light comes on and bear in mind they are all linked i was lucky I had a good friend who had a computer with a plug and connected it into the car and he cleared all the fault codes and they have not come back. So just because these come on do not think the worst. david john

When going along fine my landrover discovery suddenly revs like hell and pushes out big clouds of smoke what could be wrong?

It seems to me that you either have a dirty injector. Maybe you should try using those cleaning additives to the fuel. Tank it up full.

2000 landrover discovery td5 GS abs tc and hill decent lights on the dash. any help apreciated!!

Suggests either Wheel Bearing, ABS Sensor Fault, or Shuttle valve. Best to get it to a dealer and on the computer for them to diagnose what exactly is wrong.

2000 landrover discovery II ABS light, tracking light are on

a housing gasket is causing the antifreeze leak thats not a big problem to repair ,but the dash light are another issue and without the right connection cable and software programme to sort out the lights i would suggest the main dealer .

Gearbox over heating light comming on

The tranny may have an intercooler and the fluid levels could be low. Check your tranny fluid levels and inspect for leaks. This tranny cooler will be upfront and look like a small radiator.
