The fuel pressure regulators were recalled on some models of this truck.
You need to have fuel and spark. Check that both are present during start-up. Since the truck is an older one I would be prone to suggest, maybe you need a new fuel filter and or fuel pump. The fuel line pressure needs to be over 33psi. Test to verify. Take a look at the maintenance history. When was the last tune-up. Also if the Crank pos. sensor was failing that too could cause a hard start.Well let me know how it goes and if I can help some more.
