There is a fan timer module that runs the fan if the temperature is 194 or hotter. if the module, which has internal relays fails the fan will not shut off.if you want a cheap fix, wire a relay in series with one of the fan wires so that the relay only is activated by a source of switched power from the ignition..that relay will pull about 200 ma only,so wire the relay power to a circuit like a switched power outlet, lighter or other circuit with no computers on it to control the relay.the radio circuit switched power is a good one to use,and make sure to use a 25 amp relay ,as the fan pulls about 10 amps.a bosch 4 pin will work fine.
