There is a possibility that the remote latch cable is stuck (lubrication is gone) . With a screwdriver, NOT the fingers, try to return manually the latch, to its open position (instead of the pull open position). If you push it too far, it will go into locked position, and when you pull down the trunk lid, it wont reach its normal closed position. In that case, pull the latch back open, with the remote lever. Should you manage to close the trunk properly, spray some WD40 or some lubricant on the latch assembly.

I TRIED EVERYTHING AND THE TRUNK WILL NOT CLOSE. I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO DO. BUT I NEED TO GET RID OF THIS VEHICLE AND I KEEP READING POSTS ON THE WEB OF OTHER HONDA OWNERS, WHO CANNOT CLOSE THEIR TRUNKS OR DOORS AND THEY SAY THAT HONDA VEHICLES ARE THE BEST. I DON'T THINK SO.

How do I prevent trunk from popping open?

Some trunks have a lever near the trunk latch on the lid to disable electrically opening the trunk. Could be a short causing the trunk open switch to open the trunk. If it doesn't open electrically via a button then you have something bent and the trunk doesn't close properly.

Driver side door is frozen open with lock closed. Try to close door and it bounces back. Unlocking with key or with auto-lock does nothing. Key turns, lock button goes up and down, but mechanism does not...

Give the locking "jaws" a good dose of WD-40 and start with a pair of pliers ans working the door handle get the "jaws" moving and work it a lot while keep dousing it with the lubricant. Worst case scenario would be that the spring that opens the jaws is broken and will need replaced. Please rate this answer, thanks.

Hello, I have a 2005 JAG 4 door, and the trunk is jammed and won't open. I tried to rock it up an down, but its still jammed, how do I get it to open?

Is the latch mechanism stuck? of had the vehicle been in an accident and the trunk lid is damaged? If it is just the latch, try removing the rear seat and access the inside of the trunk that way. Then you can manually try to open the latch.

I have a 1997 Jetta and all of a sudden the drivers door will not engage when trying to close the door. The door is not catching. please help. linda

I had the same problem on mine.
Tyr this: Use the interior handle and lift it. Hold it and, with a pencil, you need to lift a little part on the lock system. Once this is lift, the door will engage. Now do not lock your door before closing your door!

Our driver's side door latch will not latch and close

I am taking a chance on this one because I am not sure if you mean the latch won't latch close or the door won't close. I base my answer on the door won't close one.....

With a large Philips screwdriver on the door insert the screw driver where the latch pin would be if it did close. ( You are trying to replicate the door latch post. Hold the driver there strong and have someone go thru the motions of opening the door. The screwdriver will lift the door lach up as the door is pulled away. Remove the screwdriver and close the door.

You have now just reset the latch towhere it should be.

The problem would have been the door thinks it is closedso the latch is down now. Follow the above and that resets it to be working.

hope that works for you; let me know please ash.
