Look through the rear wheel slots. If you can see a shinny round disk, you have disk brakes and pads. If you see a black metal drum, you have brake shoes,

just had a 2005 grand caravan in my shop. there is tbi and recall on the front brake calipers for locking and the rotors fall apart,and the same for the rear brakes that i know of
Try pulling back on the brake pedal if lights go off then either switch adjustment or the brake booster is allowing the pedal to drop down if it's running (vacuum) or brake pedal mechanism is binding.
according to the service manual there are two bolts hold the caliber to tthe adapter plate and the caliper should roll up and out. the only problem i could imagine is if the pads are hanging in the adapter
