I am unable to open the bonnet of my Honda CRV?

I am unable to open the bonnet of my Honda CRV 2003 model. I pull the lever but nothing happens - the bonnet is shut tight. Is there another way I can get it open?

Thanks.

How can I get someone to fix a hood latch that won't open?

I have seen instances like this and it was the cable that leads from the hood release latch to the lever that operates the bonnet that is worn out. If it's 2001 or older crv, try pushing the latch forward while having someone moving the bonnet in an open and close motion. If it's a 2002 or later model....makes sure the release latch it in the pull position the have someone try to yank open the bonnet....it's better to repair a bent hook/lever than to cut the entire bonnet off.

Best of luck,
Romone.

Open the bonnet on the engine bay where you will find the Automatic Gear box.On the top of the gear box you will find the solenoids with some connecting wiring, check whether are correctly connected.,Not well clipped?

Hi.! I bought a Honda cr-v model 2003 and did not have manual book, how cal i tell if its two wheel drive or front wheel drive.is there an indication where can i look? Thanks..

Depends on the model, if it is all wheel drive it should have AWD on the back window.
The Honda CRV uses very smart technology to have AWD. Let me explain it simply. The CRV is essentially a front wheel drive car, but there are sensors mounted on all the tires that sense slipping. If the computer determines the wheel is spinning faster than the other ones, it uses hydraulics to engage the rear end differential and presto..All Wheel Drive. You do nothing, no switches, no levers, the computer does it all for you. If it is indeed AWD, you can look under the car to see if you have a driveshaft going into the rear differential (axle)

My CRV engine bonnet cannot open.

The cable has probably stretched. Try having someone pull the lever, while another person pulls up on the hood. Then remember to release the second locking lever under the hood as you pull it up..

I need to open the bonnet of a 2004 Honda crv sports. I cannot get inside the car as I was in the process of replacing a flat battery and the car was locked when the bonnet was accidentally closed. So, no...

May have to get a battery powered sawzall and cut the latch that keeps the bonnet closed with a metal cutting blade. Then, go to a salvage yard and replace that part.

Good luck on this repair.

1998 honda crv bonnet wont release to open it what

Try pushing down on the hood while someone else pulls the lever to open the hood. Then lift up and release latch as usual.
Could be broken spring in latch.

Can't open Bonnet bonnet cable failure

The leaver may have broken, or the cable is simply too stretched and loose to open the hood. Another reason is hood might be putting a lot of pressure on the lever, therefore making in near impossible to open bonnet (hood), so you may need someone to push or pull up on it as you pull the lever.

See if you can get at the cable itself, directly behind the lever. If so, cut some of the plastic cover away until you see the bare cable, give the cable a tug with pliers.

I once had to remove the grill to get access to the cable there, I cut into the plastic cover, slid it back and grabbed the bare cable with needle nose pliers and gave that a tug.

See if you can get at the cable, if the lever isn't working remove it (usually two bolts or so) and try pulling on the cable there.

Hope this helps :-)

Stuck Bonnet!

Try having someone hold the lever to open it, then you go to the front and try prying the hood (bonnet?) up with your fingers.  You may have to give a slight push down first.
If that doesn't work, you try 'bopping' the hood near the front edge with the side of your closed fist, also with someone holding the lever to open the hood.  ...not enough to dent it, tho.
Once it is open, lube the latch assembly with some sae 30 oil.  If it is rusted, lube it with WD-40, and after a few days of opening it up several times a day, lube it with the 30-wt. oil.
Good luck!

Hi,I need your kind assistance.I have problem to open my crv 2003 bonnet. The cable is not attached to the catch. So the pull lever can't work from inside.Any advice is highly appreciated.

Unless you want to damnage your hood and front bumper cover I would suggest taking it to a dealer. Their they will be able to get it open without damnaging anything. It is a huge pain, trust me I have done it on many cars.
