Take off the back wheel and pull on the drum. If it doesn't come off. Look around the back side and there will be a small rubber or plastic plug. Inside of the plug is a wheel with a little metal catch on it. Pull the catch with a screwdriver and pry the wheel toward the way it turns easiest with another screwdriver. It make take some penetrating oil to get it to move. Then go to a shop and get your self adjuster mechanism repaired. It is probably rusty and stuck. If it has rear discs. There is a screw mechanism on the cable near the lever on the back of the caliper that locks in the parking brake. Turn the screw so it loosens the cable and it should release. Good lucl.

My handbreak light wont turn off after i relase the handbreak why is that happening should i be warried about this

Its just a spring pressure switch located close to the brake lever.
Check that the lever goes down completely. Could be an old, hard french fry or some other debris jamming the mechanism or, it is probably just stuck or broken. Removing the wire connector from the switch should turn the light off. If the brake is adjusted properly the vehicle wont move with the brake on, so you wont need a "light" to remind you to release it.

OLD CAR 1966 HANDBREAK LEVER IS JAMMED IN UP/ON POSITION CANT RELEASE OR DEPRESS RELEASE BUTTON

The only way to release the handbreak is to really pull on the lever until the button will release. There is just too much tension on it now. Pull as hard as you can to release it.

I have a 2007 hyundai tuscon with 46k miles on it. I was informed that the a/c compressor is failing. I wanted to know if was covered under the 5year/60000 mile warranty.

I would say yes cause any thing that causes excessive emission to be released in the air /environment/but truthfully that is some thing to ask the dealer or a attorney , hope this gives you some direction to go in ,depending on your state or country, you may want to ask the state agency that governs the industry, if i can be of any further assistance feel free to ask . Have a good day,

I pulled my Parking brake to release it and the cable just snaped

Sir,

  1. Locate the area where you removed the vehicle's parking brakecable. Find the cut out and line it up with the corresponding surface.Slide the piece into place. Much of this will be done by touch, so makesure you know what you are looking for before you go poking around.
  2. Step 2 Usethe retainer clip to hold the parking brake cable into place. It willpop over the top of the installed parking brake cable. You will need topound it into place. Use the end of a tool, or small rubber hammer topound the retaining clip into place. Always wear safety glasses whenbanging on anything on your vehicle to protect your eyes from flyingcorrosion or other debris.
  3. Step 3 Seepthe parking brake cable back on to its hook by actuating the parkingbrake lever. You can do this by taking a large screwdriver and rotatingthe parking brake lever clockwise until there is enough play in thecable to slip the parking brake cable onto its mounting hook.
  4. Step 4 Releasethe parking brake lever and allow it to snap back into place. This isthe conclusion of the proper re-installation of the parking brakecable. If you have trouble with this process at any point, check yourvehicle's repair manualmag-glass_10x10.gif or a professional mechanic.
Thanks
Good luck

Trying to open audi a4 bonnet, removed from grill and srews but can't get the third one which is right back, lever moves up and down no problem but looks to be catching

I took a long thin screwdriver and slid it under the bonnet and pressed it against the latch release and give the screwdriver a good whack and that freed the latch so the bonnet could open.. then I lubed the latch like crazy and it's been working ever since

Driver side second row seat will not fold down or adjust.

I had the same problem. The dealer wanted $400 to replace the latch. I didn't wnat to pay that much so I looked at it and found that the release strap was twisted and jammed in the mechanism. Here's how I fixed it.

I removed the screw from the lever and removed the lever. I pulled apart the plastic housing. It does not come apart all the way but enough to work on it. Pull the release strap that comes out of the back and pull it clear of the mechanism and straighten it out. slip the lever back on and the seat should fold. Fold it up all the way to make it easier to reassemble. Pull the lever back off and slip the release strap back into the slot and make sure it is not twisted or kinked. Snap the housing back together, put the lever back on, and screw it in. Test it and it should work fine. Hope this helps,
