'96 jeep 4.0 hesitation on load/ steady speed, stalling

For the past month now i have been experiencing hesitation on acceleration and a steady highway speed, dead spot in throttle, stalling at idle or around turns or coming to a stop and random misfires.
it sound like a fuel problem or so you would think. i have replaced my fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter, fuel lines and i have cleaned out my fuel lines and injectors. well maybe ignition... replaced the distributor, plugs, cap, rotor and wires.
well maybe a sensor... i replaced the MAP sensor, IAC motor, CPS, and O2 sensors.
i am 18 years old and en experienced mechanic i have swapped many engines and fixed many problems but i have never run into anything like this. since i have a dead spot and a random misfire i believe its a bad TPS that i have already replaced 3 times. but i balieve the TPS is giving a dead spot and probably an off injector pulse width. any suggestions/ advice i would be glad to talk thank you

WE TEST , NOT GUESS ! Take it to a quaified repair shop ,or go to a good automotive technology program an learn the correct way to fix automotive electronics . The industry is hurting for good Tech's , not back yard wantabees

SOURCE: 1990 jeep idles good as soon as you hit the gas it back fires

Get hold of your engine supplier and ask for the ECU (computer) and the whole wiring from the same Jeep ASAP.

Ask them can you stop by an compare the connectors and pin-out

There are few different between Federal and California emission.

California emission engine + ECU will have more sensors.

Make the call ASAP and take careful note on the pin-out from the org. Jeep.

Cant get passed by emission test. No codes are coming up but someone keeps saying evap system Catalytic converter, fuel pump, gas cap. O2 sensor has been replaced . Also eating alot of gas. Engine light...

You have to do a drive cycle, the fuel tank has to be between 1/4 and 3/4 of a tank of fuel, can not be above or below this fuel level.
To perform an OBDII Driving cycle do the following:

1. Cold Start
In order to be classified as a cold start the engine coolant temperature must be below 50ºC (122ºF) and within 6ºC (11ºF) of the ambient air temperature at startup. Do not leave the key on prior to the cold start or the heated oxygen sensor diagnostic may not run.

2. Idle
The engine must be run for two and a half minutes with the air conditioner on maximum and rear defroster on. The more electrical load you can apply the better. This will test the O2 heater, Passive Air, Purge "No Flow", Misfire and if closed loop is achieved, Fuel Trim.

3. Accelerate
Turn off the air conditioner and all the other loads and apply half throttle until 88km/hr (55mph) is reached. During this time the Misfire, Fuel Trim, and Purge Flow diagnostics will be performed.

4. Hold Steady Speed
Hold a steady speed of 88km/hr (55mph) for 3 minutes. During this time the O2 response, air Intrusive, EGR, Purge, Misfire, and Fuel Trim diagnostics will be performed.

5. Decelerate
Let off the accelerator pedal. Do not shift, touch the brake or clutch. It is important to let the vehicle coast along gradually slowing down to 32km/hr (20 mph). During this time the EGR, Purge and Fuel Trim diagnostics will be performed.

6. Accelerate
Accelerate at 3/4 throttle until 88-96 km/hr (55-60mph). This will perform the same diagnostics as in step 3.

7. Hold Steady Speed
Hold a steady speed of 88km/hr (55mph) for five minutes. During this time, in addition to the diagnostics performed in step 4, the catalyst monitor diagnostics will be performed. If the catalyst is marginal or the battery has been disconnected, it may take 5 complete driving cycles to determine the state of the catalyst.

8. Decelerate
This will perform the same diagnostics as in step 5. Again, don't press the clutch or brakes or shift gears.

Check fuel pressure at idle it should read 30psi. If you have a weak fuel pump it will act just like you describe. Located intake and replace the fuel filter.

My car stalls

Check fuel filter . You have a mechanical pump & a carburetor on that model dont you?...Check fuel pressure (should be around 6-7 lbs) and check coil immediately after it shuts down...sometimes coils will act like that just before they go bad..
