CV halfshaft will run you $75 at local autoparts store. Shop labor varies from shop to shop as well as their expertise.
The brake caliper has to be pulled, lower shock bolt removed, upper and lower ball joint seperated (book will say only one but it is not true) and steering knuckle and axle nut removed. CV joint simply unbolts at differential output flange.

Testimonial: "Accurate considering even the shop wouldnt commit to anything until it was in the shop and taken apart. In the end the total cost was $283"

My 2002 dodge grand caravan sport is thumping real loud on the front passenger side. When i drive faster it gets faster. When i turn right it gets real loud any advice?

it sounds like your CV joint in bad. if you jack up the front of the vehicle and remove the wheel you should be able to see where the shaft and CV joint attach to the wheel hub assembly,, if you rotate the shaft by hand back and forth you will be able to see the broken joint slopping around.

I'm worried that during the process of replacing my front wheel bearing assemblies in my 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500, that the cv axle may have become damaged or disassembled. I noticed that 4wd performance...

Unlikely.
CV joints can't be damaged by just removal.
They go bad when water or dirt gets into the boot.
When bad, they made sound like sack or marbles, on tight, slow turns.
They are supposed to be cleaned and regreased every 80,000 or so.
The wheel bearings are supposed to last much longer than CV joints.
What is going on that made you change bearings?
What are the symptoms?

Grinding noise front end.

I say it's the CV joints. You have to jack up under the lower A-Arm, to take the spring pressure off of it, to check them.

(Use jack stands, and wheel chocks behind the rear tires. Emergency brake On. Work on a hard level surface. Be SAFE! Trucks can be replaced, YOU cannot!)

When i turn the wheel it nakes a knocking noise

Check the cv joints. the rubber boots behind the tires on the front may be cracked or torn allowing dirt to mess with the cv joints.
