Hazard lights won't turn off

You can not just cut a wire and have the turn signals still work. You need to have the turn signal switch replaced.

1983 ranger turn signal lights flash quickly on both sides. Hazard lights work. Steering wheel felt locked and heard a breaking sound that seemed to come from the steering column.

fast flashing usually means a bulb is burnt... have you checked them all ??? or did you wire in a trailer plug and did something wrong ???

When the key is turned wipers come on, and the right turn signal blinks fast. We think it might be a short in the wires but can't find out where. Is there something else that could be causing the

Technically, the wipers and turn signals are on two different circuits. But its possible the wires have melted together. One place to look would be in the steering col where the wiper switch and turn signal switch come together.
You could try unplugging the harness to see if the wipers still run.

How do I get the part where the plug for turn signal switch go thur this without cut and rewire it?

Take apart the tilt steering column, buy the small harness, and replace.
(Harness has turn signal switch, etc. on one end. Harness goes down the column, and plugs in; on the other end. Or cut wires, solder, and use heat shrink tubing. Slide heat shrink tubing up one wire BEFORE soldering. Slide down onto soldered connection of wire, heat ->heat shrink tubing )

Right turn signals don't work. when park lights are on nothing happens but when park lights are off the right turn signal flashes all the park lights

I had the same problem. It's the blinker switch in the steering column.
You'll need to pull the steering wheel, any cheapo s/w puller will do.
Unscrew the turn signal lever from the steering column. Replace part.
Worked like a champ for me.

I have a 87 blazer s10... the turnswitch /wiper/highbeam switch is broken and is shorting out my brakelights ..i cant seem to get to it.. took the steering weel off but ..?

Unfortunately there are some special tools required you will need to get to the turn-signal switch. Below is the procedure for replacing the turn-signal switch. Generally you can rent the puller from a local auto parts jobber or you can purchase one.
Good luck, let me know how it goes.
Regards,

Many vehicles use a turn signal switch that is separate from the multifunction switch. The steering wheel will have to be removed to gain access to the turn signal switch on these vehicles. The following procedure is a common method of turn signal switch replacement:
  • Place the fender covers on the fenders.
  • Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  • Remove the steering column trim.
  • Remove the horn pad from the steering wheel.

  • Remove the steering wheel and horn collar.
  • Use a suitable puller to remove the steering wheel.
  • With a suitable compressor, compress the preload spring to the lock plate. Compress the spring only enough to remove the snap ring.

  • Use a pick and a small flat blade screwdriver to remove the snap ring.
  • Remove the lock plate, horn contact carrier, and spring.
  • Remove the bolts at the upper steering column support and the upper mounting bracket from the column.
  • Disconnect the turn signal wiring connector.
  • Wrap tape around the wire and connector.
  • Remove the hazard warning knob from the column.
  • Remove the switch retaining screws and remove the switch.
