ABS is short for anti-lock braking system. This is a separate system from your hydraulic brakes. The abs light means the system has a problem and it is disabled until you fix it. The regular brakes still work as you know. Someone needs to scan the computer for ABS trouble codes and go from there.
It sounds like the sensor may have failed on the right side and is always applying brakes on that tire.If you have to replace one pad then replace them both.Good luck! Greg
check abs problem with an Actron Brake Scan tool which sells for about $100. This should help to narrow down the problem to a sensor, a module or other components on the vehicle.
the yellow light is warning you that a problem exsists with the abs. unless you are experienced with brakes and abs would highly suggest you take it to a shop.
You can disconnect it by just pulling the fuse out for the ABS sytem. The fuse will be located at the end of the dash on the drivers side. Note that the ABS light on the dash will come on that will indicate that your ABS system is not working. You can ether live with it on, or pull the light out from the instrument panel. Good luck and this should help.
Turn on ignition switch and system should chk itself. If all is right the light should drop out..You may have to drive it for the sensors to register presence.
