You can check for power at the connector for the fuel pump while cranking, if you got power but no fuel you have bad pump. Also have a friend crank on the car while you bang the bottom of the tank with a rubber hammer, sometimes it will jar the pump just enough to get it running again.

How to release fuel pressure on a 2006 E 250 5.4 for van

you can pull the fuel pump relay and start the vehicle. L:et it run until it dies.

you can find the Schroeder valve on the fuel rail and depress the core to release pressure.

you can just disconnect one o the pressure lines. there is only 35 - 40 psi of fuel pressure. Wrap a rag around the fitting before pulling it apart to keep the mess to a minimum.

Why does my 2002 mustang gt when steping on gas from start losses power.

First check fuel pressure with a gauge, parts stores will loan or rent them. See if fuel pressure is as specified for your car. Also have the pcm (engine computer) scanned for trouble codes.

How to test to make sure fuel pump is getting power

You could check for fuel pressure at the injection rail assembly, especially if there is a Schrader valve on the rail. The Schrader valve looks like an air valve and operates the same way. Push in on the valve stem to see if fuel comes out under pressure. Have rags around the valve to catch the gas. Best is to attach a pressure gauge to the valve, and then you can read the pressure. Possibly Auto Zone or Advance will the gauge as a loaner. This will comfirm the fuel pump is working and providing the correct pressure.

Where is the schroeder valve on a 2000 kia sportage

Id start by looking on the INTAKE manifold for 4 fuel injectors. They are connected by a commone pipe or tube called a fuel rail. Its typically located at one end or the other of this fuel rail. Hope this helps.

My 2001 Mustang Convertible hesitates on starting up or when going up inclines. Just yesterday it did it just while I was driving. Could this be the fuel pump?

It COULD be....but it could be other things too. Have you changed the fuel filter?

In regard to the fuel pump...does it only do it at startup or on inclines? How about under heavy acceleration? You can put a gauge on the fuel rail to check pressure coming from the fuel pump. There's a Schroeder valve on the front passenger side of the car at the end of the fuel rail to hook onto. Good place to start...

I've changed the fuel pump on my '01 GT convertible..not a real difficult task, but not much fun either. I recommend you join us on Modded Mustang Forums....(www.moddedmustangs.com/forums/) LOTS of good info and help there. Good luck!

Car wont start 2002 mustang gt dtc 1230 1233 codes , no bad fuses or relays, no fuel pressure at rails new pumps..

If you are not getting fuel pressure to the rails then you have an electrical problem such as a relay or fuse which are located in under hood fuse box, or the pressure regulator on the beginning of the fuel rail where the lines come in is bad.

Car ran fine one day, not it will crank but not

Your fuel system requires 35-45 PSI. If you don't have this pressure in the line then your fuel filter or fuel pump is at fault.

I need to change fuel filter for 1992 f150 [relay diagram]

To relieve the pressure, find on the fuel rail on the intake a schroeder valve, looks like a larger version of a tire valve, possibly with a cap. Remove cap, push center pin on valve to relieve pressure. Caution as high pressure fuel will come out, I hold a rag over it while I do it.
