2007 Honda Civic Hybrid. Check engine and IMA lights are on. The error code is P0A7F. It says the Hybrid Battery Pack state of charge low. How do I fix this?
I have a 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid and have had hell with it. I have also learnt much about it too.
One thing bad about the HCH2, is that the 12V battery controls the electronics, and the Hybrid battery charges the 12V battery. However the 12V battery is not charged all the time, and cannot be charged when the IMA is usually being used, and in different scenarios. (Buy a Electronic volt meter which plugs into the 12V adapter $14 Walmart))
It is possible that the 12V battery is being drained while driving and caused a voltage drop which can cause your problem. In your case, I would change the 12V battery anyway as they do not last long on Hybrids. (You may have to get Honda to trip the IMA warning lights.) In my case, changing the 12v battery helped the hybrid battery as it was the electronics reporting the charge level wrong.
Depending where you live, you will have a minimum 80,000 mile warranty on the hybrid battery.

you need a repair book on that car so you can look up the codes or call Honda and see if they will give you the codes and tell you what is wrong is the car even running good you can also take it to auto that has a reader they can put it on and they can tell you what they mean.
The P1600 code is usually a IMA fault, and the P1449 code is a battery deviation fault.
Both are usually early warning of some sort of hybrid battery issues.
You need to have a system tech give the hybrid system a good look over, but most likely your IMA battery pack is most likely suspect
Apparently, from here http://www.greenhybrid.com/discuss/f50/help-p1600-p1433-28749/
This means the battery is on the way out !!!!!
and here another forum
' Okay got your answer. p1600 is generic telling you there is a manufacture specific code and that becasue of the p1433.. This code is becasue of weak batteries. You will need to plan on battaries soon. They are spendy.'
Error Code: P0A7F/78.
Description: Battery module deterioration.
Solution:
-Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the battery
module, the battery current sensor, and the BCM module.
What type of Honda Civic do you have? There is a difference between the LX and EX civic exhaust systems. And your vehicle will not pass inspection with your check engine light on.
Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid system uses high output electric motor-generator providing more efficient engine operation by capturing electrical energy during braking or deceleration and use of that energy to power the vehicle hence saving valuable fuel. The engine shut off during stops further increases efficiency of the vehicle. This can cause Damage to the Battery System if left UnRepaired for Too Long. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!
those codes are thrown when there is a momentary hicup in the electrical delivery from the battery pack. clear the codes and drive it, if they dont come back you are all good, it they do come back then you most likely have a corrosion issue between the battery monitor system and the battery
Ow to fix this cod 2003 honda civic hybrid this is the cod p1600
