I need to find the v.i.n/chassis number on my 1983 ford laser, can someone tell me where it is?

If you mean the VIN number It has been a federal requirement for years that all car makers put them at the base of the windshield just infront of the steering wheel. It is also on the data lable on the drivers door

Well you can not get #,s from the vin . If you were to ask your auto dealer nicely, they can tell you were to look, because there are diffurent tags or stamps for each make and modles

Chassi number its part of the VIN up by the lower left hand side of the windshield.

check www.autozone.com ...they have parts listed as well as free repair manuals online and other reference material. good luck

You can tell by your VIN number. Just write down that number and take it into any auto parts store, they will look it up for you. Joe

we have the same problem here in spain with american built vehicles ,When i come to do the paperwork and their is no engine number and the spanish authorities insist on numbers on everything and three copies of it all with stamps on.So when i get a crysler gran voyager or ford mercury with no chassis number stamped in the actual chassis ,just a silly plate in the dash which means nothing here .I do a bit of doctoring before the vehicle goes for its mechanical inspection and they evan measure it for height and width and length and they look for the stamped chassis number which on all american vehicles i take to the test and they are always in the same place .Drivers side on top of suspension ,and engine number stamped on a nice area of the block,thats accessable ,if no engine number exists then use the last 6 numbers of the chassis number .----know what i mean

i dont think they had chassis numbers on old k-5's or it may have rusted away, what is it you are trying to figure out from that number? Great truck BTW i have a 76 and 78 love em to death

Manualy Test These, and if they are Wrong the Cluster Curciut Pannel has too Much resistance to it , Probably Just From AGE Replace the Plastic Paper like Curciut Pannel Behind Instrument Cluster

i have never heard of a chassis number to tell you the truth but the vin# is in the window on the drivers side you can see it when you look into the car through the windshield from the outside and all other information is on the inside of the Drivers door jam
