i have a 1970 buick electra225 convertible and the power windows suddenly stopped working on all the switches in the car i checked the fuse box and i seen a power and accessary 40 amp i pulled that out and the radio stopped working plugged it back in and the radio was back on im out of choices. please help
Power window usually don't have a fuse but an automatically resetting breaker. If all four windows stopped working at the same time check the body control module that is what manages the power windows. Good luck.
First check for fuse, and any fuse associating to the promblem. Secondly is it just one door, window, or both door, window in the back? If it is just one, then your power switch properly need replacement, if it is both and you have checked all fuse and it is good, then your master power switch is bad, (the one in the driver side)
Unfortunately they are all on the same fuse, so if the rest are working that one should, it could be a window motor, window regulator or even a switch but the fuse is out of the question.
check fuses and the relays and also check the electrodes on each side of the glass of the back window that they are not unplugged and if no owners manual then stop by a dealership in the parts department and they will tell you where the location is for the fuses and or relays that maybe involved with the rear window because there is fuses under the dash on the drivers side as well as fuses and relays under the hood on the drivers side
