New factory navigation radio won't work

2004 cadillac deville dts radio wiring - hi fellas, this is my first time on 12volt. i'm trying to install an amp in my 04 cadillac deville.

Chris, they had a few problems with Escalade nav,/radio usually expensive fix and sometimes doesn't last, a lot of people end up going aftermarket.

is it a new cd/radio ? the wiring is the same for a radio with or with out a cd player , the cd should work once the radio is connected , the other port you mention may be relevent as the original radio was a factory installed , these are usually designed to be useless to be used in other vehicles as a theft deterrent , i would remove the new radio and have a good search in the radio space as there may well be the second connector you require , be very carefull as there are many sharp edges and the apeture is not very large , the second connector , if there, will most likely be taped to another loom so as to keep it away from touching other parts so a good torch and have a search , keep me posted if you wish

It may not work in todays vehicles that need radio codes

Have to go to a car stereo place for the answers

look into a radio repair shop or just get a after market radio installed at a audio store best buy-etc

I suggest you have the dealer look at this, you can't get parts for the AMP as GM doesn't sell them to the public just authorized repair shops

take to a garage and get a diagnostics or buy a new raido i have one for sale ;-)

I had to replace battery cable--radio now does not work without "code" --anti theft code supposedly either put in by factory or previous owner (i bought it used at car dealer), local chev dealer could not find code and was no help. am i the only one that has this problem?? other than buying new radio what can i do? thanks![/QUOTE]

You could take the car to a dealer(Ali Bhai Motors in Karachi) who has the software disc to reinstall. I had a some what similar problem when I was changing the battery and the screen died

radio anti-theft. Should have a code card you got with vehicle. might be stuck in your owners manual.
