You will need to put it into base timing mode, should be a tan and white wire on firewall near distributor, then with a timing light you can set the timing, after you have set cylinder 1 at top dead center

98 Honda civic that cranks but want start now. I had to replace the water pump. When I finish it would not star. I replaced spark plugs and wires same problem

The timing belt needs to be retimed properly after this repair. If the timing procedure was not performed properly it will not start and chances are if this is the case, valve damage may have occured

98 Tahoe 5.7L 4x4 Jumped time but i replace my timing chain with double roller and retimed it but still timed wrong.

When you set the timing if this year has a distributor you have to disconnect a wire to properly time it. Check witha. Chevy dealer. For wire to disconnect. On my 94 k1500 it's on the back of, the alternator.

93 chevy 4x4 with a 4l60e tranny. will a 98 tranny swap?

Nothing after 1995, because from 1996 on the transmissions are for OBD II. Your truck has OBD I.

Replaced the water pump on 1997 chevy cavalier and now it runs like **** think it needs to be retimed

Yup, sounds like your on the right track to me. Don't run it this way for long, it could cause valve damage. Go to the local parts store and get the book and reset the timming.

Will a 2000 chevy trany fit a 98 chevy

It should, but i would check with an auto wrecker to be sure. Or your chev dealer. You don't want to get it in there and find some little thing that won't interchange.
