check your fuses to the trunk lock and its power relays also check the button and wiring for opens or shorts (normally a broken wire between the button and the power lock is culprit)
One of the microswitches at the latches is not engaging stopping the cycle for safety reasons in case something is stuck, open the roof again and inspect the latch down areas for foreign objects or a misaligned microswitch.

We own a 2004 XC 70 Volvo AWD. The interior rear view mirror decided to die. There is a discolored patch (bubble type) in the middle section of the mirror. A new one will set us back a cool grand! Does anyone out there know how to fix it?
Volvo dealer says:
It cannot be replaced with a used one.
It's software operated.
A similar one from a similar car will not work, It will play havoc with other components, ie: sun roof, electric windows, etc.
All I needed was a new battery. They installed a new one, and I think that's waht caused the rear view mirror to go bad. They probably shorted the system as they were installing the battery.
Thanks
