Hi, the pre-converter oxygen sensors have a heater circuit that warms the sensor during a cold start up. The PCM supplies 12volts to the sensor for about 15 seconds to the heater element in the
sensor, this heating of the sensor helps it to read more accurate when cold witch will increase the effiency of your vehicle. When the PCM detects that the sensor is not heating up it will set the code for the heater circuit performance. The most common problem is the sensor but could be a supply problem, you should check the brown wire on the sensor connector for 12 volts but will only be supplied after you first cut the key on when cold. This is not a critical failure so there is no rush to repair, but it should be eventually.

Doesn't completely sound like a fuel pump problem...sounds like a vacuum line problem .... check your pcv ...and vacuum lines and when was your fuel filter last changed and how many miles are on the car...your fuel pressure regulator solenoid needs to be dry on the vacuum side too...diaphram could be leaking but if you can't find an obvious problem I would definiately find a qualified mechanic to dive into it...do you have access to a scan tool to read the trouble codes?

The service engine soon lite came on on my 02 Sierra Denali truck. Had a check completed and code P0135 (bank 1 sensor 1) came up. Did a bit of research to see which O2 sensor may be causing the problem....

if i am not mistaken , bank 1 is the closest 02 sensor to the engine, look down onto your exhaust system , and follow it to the closest 02 sensor to the engine. and check the wire connection to it to make sure it is not frayed or disconnected.

What does it mean when your bank 1 n bank 2 are running lean

A lean bank 1 and 2 is indicating there is not enough fuel being injected to support proper combustion.
Leading causes can include but are not limited to......
1) low fuel pressure or plugged fuel filter.
2) vacuum leak causing lean condition.
3) air intake hose or crank case not sealed properly and bypassing the MAF sensor or the MAF sensor element is dirty.
4) wrong fuel or poor quality fuel used.
Hope this helps. If the Service Engine Soon light is illuminated, there will be fault codes associated the light. Get the vehicle scanned for free at your local Auto Zone or Advanced Auto and report back.

I have a 2001 yukon denali and im getting these trouble codes(p0171bx2, p0102b, p0174b) and i dont know where to find out what they are. Also it read im lean in bank 1 & 2

po 0102 is mas air flow sensor maf/vaf
p0171 bank 1 too lean
p0174b bank 2 too lean
What you have here is either a defective mass air flow sensor and or a possible broken loose or rotted vacuumn line or hose creating this havov, with the engine warm and idling in Park tap the air flow sensor in its housing and see if the engine gets upset(rough) if so replace the sensor its expensive.
If ok have the vac system checked for possible leaks in the hoses at around the intake manifold gasket area etc, fix and replace as needed.

Service engine soon light on, says bank 1 and 2 lean

this code sets when more air is entering the system than is designed to. the computer is having to overcompensate by adding more fuel. usually this code is associated with a vacuum leak, either a vacuum hose or a leak at the throttle body gasket, intake gasket, or another gasket on the intake manifold. if your vehicle has a mass air flow sensor (as opposed to a MAP sensor) a dirty or faulty mass air can cause both banks to be lean
