Not sure as to what you are needing by the way you worded your question. Are you looking for the timing indicator so you are able to time it on the crankshaft mark ? Some models in that year the marks are above or monted on the oil pan (see pictures below) I hope this is what you were needing. The eighth digit in the VIN number on the trucks dash (view from outside the truck on the drivers side) is the engine code. I believe M is a 350 and P is a 305.

The 1985 Impala came standard with the Chevrolet 305 V8. All Chevrolet small block V8's from 265 cubic inches to 400 cubic inches from 1957 to about 1989 used the same block with almost no difference in the castings, so the motor mounts should fit from one block to the next. If you are trying to swap in a 350 newer than 1989, then the motor mounts are different, and you will have to have them fabricated by a local welder, machine shop, or perhaps the best, a local short-track race car driver/builder. Those guys can build anything.

it sound like it is going in to 4low rang but it may only be low 2wheel power brake it a little on dirt if the tires sin in the rear it was only low ranged 2 wheel u can get this by putting it in 4low and unlocking the hubs it may be a hub prob as it is common

check wires on the pickup coil under the plate where the icm is mounted.
