I work for a doctor and a patient just had this same problem. She had a extra fob in her trunk so we opened the trunk with the key and got her other fob but I am wondering why the key does not fit the lock on the driverside
right if youre lucky as the key lock has gone in if you can get on teh end of the metal rod with long nosed pliers and pull or push it then it will open ,now if lock was a staright push type then a push the lever behind inwards and boot (trunk) will open ,if your unsure then ask a local mechanic as he will open it in seconds for you .
ls 400 - trunk leaks water. Fix -- Under the trunk seal at the bottom/rear you'll see that two pieces of metal come together. The adhesive / sealant that is used at the factory seems to leak with age. pull off the seal and use a good adhesive sealer to prevent water from leaking down between the two pieces of metal. Reinstall the trunk seal after it has dried and set properly.
put the key in the drivers door lock and lock and unlock it three times. make sure all door, hood and trunk are completely closed before doing this.
do you have a key fob?
I think, for this problem you have to go to the dealer. There is a few things that they have to do @ the same time. Also, make sure that you bring all of your keys to make sure that they all work with the transponder, good luck...matty
