Your radiator is connected to the transmisiom to cool the transmission. the tank in the radiator has ruptured and transferring fluid to where it should not be. solution replace radiator. This will transfer trans fluid to cooling system and vice versa. I can not see the trans oil ending up in the engine oil sump for any reason?
If so the level sensor is in the reservoir. Sometimes the level gets stuck if the coolant gets low. Some gentle whacking of the reservoir with a rubber mallet is usually enough to get the light to turn out.

When the car is cold remove the radiator cap on the passenger side of the radiator. Add coolant until full.
On a car that old it may not be in the stock position. It is underneath the rear of the car. Follow the largest line that comes out of the top of the tank and comes down beside it and you will find it. Be ready for gasoline to squirt out around the fitting when you disconnect the fitting nearest the tank. Good Luck.
